About The Event
A conversation and Q&A with national communications experts Nick Seaver and Robert Gould about best practices for effective social marketing and public health communications campaigns, with a special focus on climate, health, and equity messaging. This conversation is hosted by the Climate and Health Communications Collaborative, a team of community-based organizations, grassroots groups, nonprofits, health care, Tribal health, local public health, academia, local and state government, and volunteers.
Experts:
Robert Gould: Robert is the President/CEO of One Degree Strategies & Adjunct Faculty at George Mason University Center for Climate Communications. Robert is a behavioral scientist who has helped lead some of the nation’s most successful social marketing campaigns. His decades of health promotion experience include the award-winning ‘truth’ campaign with the Florida Department of Health and the follow-on national ‘truth’ campaign with the American Legacy Foundation.
Nick Seaver: Nick is the Senior Vice President and Co-Director of Training Programs at Burness Communications. He has an extensive background in message testing on climate change, health, and equity and has published communication guidance. Alongside research, Nick develops workshops for nonprofits and universities on storytelling, working with media, message development, op-ed writing, and effective presentations.
