About The Event
Climate change and extreme weather events are increasingly impacting more areas of the United States, including Wisconsin. Nurses and those in healthcare are noting an increase in patients presenting for health care due to poor air quality, vector borne illnesses, allergies, and extreme heat. This panel will feature critical care, nursing faculty, and public health nurses from across Wisconsin that are taking action within their practice to prepare and prevent health threats. The discussion will offer knowledge or skills for those exploring climate as a health issue, or strengthen a sence of community or resilience for those already advocating for health protective policies.
